With so much information available to teachers, it can seem overwhelming to create meaningful classes that feel like your own. You don’t have to rely solely on the formulas you learned in teacher training to get out of that teaching rut. Join The Art of Teaching Yoga mentors, Alexandria Crow, and Giselle Mari, for a full-day workshop for teachers that will demystify the process of creating classes that are effective and inspiring for you and your students.
By leading 30-minute practices leading to one pose, Alex and Giselle will show you that their different teaching styles have similar and basic common principles. Through in-depth group discussions and workshopping your questions throughout the day, you’ll discover how to apply these principles to design solid sequences, understand how to offer verbal cues and hands-on assists, handle injury prevention and management, and integrate philosophy more fully. Don’t miss this opportunity to simplify and unpack the process of developing your unique teaching style and creating balanced classes that keep students coming back to learn more.

Every January, for the New Year, there is an opportunity to let go of the old and bring in the new. This class is about both physically detoxing the body, as well as the mind and heart, letting go of old patterns and beliefs, and creating space for new creativity to enter in, while setting intentions and clearing a new pathway towards heart-filled purpose. The yoga sequences in this workshop will utilize three internal components for cleansing-abdominal compression, decompression and twists, and will include Sun Salutations A and B, detox standing sequences, inverted poses, breathing exercises and a restorative cool down. This intensive is designed to help us identity, reconcile and heal restrictive emotional patterns and physical imbalances in our mind/body. It is for all levels, but will be challenging, provocative and create heat. Some discussion/mostly asana.

The Shoulder Girdle Mantra: Unlocking the power of the upper body
For Teachers/ mixed levels
Strong shoulders and proper shoulder alignment are essential to a healthy Vinyasa Flow practice. Think of how often you find yourself in chaturanga, upward-facing dog, and downward-facing dog. Focusing on these key poses, we will examine common patterns of misalignment in the shoulders and use our practice together to imprint strong alignment habits that protect the shoulders from injury. Creating a solid new foundation, learn powerful mini-sequences that you can do every day in order to strengthen and open your shoulder girdle, deepen your sun salutations, and revolutionize your entire practice. Notes: Discussion and asana.
